Although he has been gone for over a century, people around the world still know the name of Louis Pasteur. The reason that this man’s legacy has lived on for so long is because of all the things that he accomplished. While many people accomplish a lot of things during their life, what sets his accomplishments apart is the fact that they did so much to help humanity. Without Pasteur’s accomplishments, the world most likely wouldn’t have many of the advantages that we now take for granted.
When people see how many things that Louis Pasteur accomplished, they are boggled by the fact that he was able to do so much. Not only is this because of the quantity of what he accomplished, but also by the fact that he seems to have been all over the place with what he did. For example, not only did this man get to the bottom of rabies, but he also came up with a scientific explanation for how wine is fermented. Although these two things may seem completely unrelated, the reasons Pasteur was able to do so much is because he was a true scientist. He explored his ideas through experiments that were patient and precise, and kept his eyes open to new results that he may not have even expected.
Another huge accomplishment of Pasteur was helping to develop some of the first vaccines in the world. He also dealt with anthrax and several other diseases. By proving a widely held belief to be incorrect, Louis was also successful in paving the way for the modern approach to biology.
